the tilly project

The Tilly Project, founded by Lauren Kennedy, is a national nonprofit aimed to connect pet owners with end-of-life pet photographers, while also offering resources for those experiencing anticipatory grief, and pet loss/bereavement. For more information and bereavement resources, please visit thetillyproject.org.

why I stand out...

As a licensed social worker, I worked in the hospice setting for years supporting patients and their families. I helped them cope with their anxieties and anticipatory grief. I also held bereavement therapy groups for grieving family members. Now, using photography, I hope to create concrete memories and bring comfort to those who are anticipating the loss of a pet whether that be due to old age or illness.

what does an EOL session look like?

After losing both our family cat and dog within a month of each other in late 2023, the grief of losing a pet is devastating. I'm so glad I was able to capture some photos of them both that we treasure. I would be honored to do the same for you. I would meet you and your pet where he or she is most comfortable, catering to their mobility restrictions, wherever that may be.
